(Nemophila menziesii) This is 6-10 inch wildflower that produces beautiful 1 inch cup shaped spring or summer flowers that are sky-blue with white centers. Excellent massed under deciduous trees or as a cover for bulbs. Broadcast seed in fall where winters are mild, in early spring everywhere else.
Lives just one year. Grows quickly, blooms heavily, then dies with frost. Will regrow following spring if seed falls on bare ground.
A hardy annual native to California, but is easily grown throughout the United States.
They grow four to six inches tall and will cover an eight to twelve inch area at maturity.
The dainty, cup-shaped, sky blue flowers bloom throughout the spring and into summer. They prefer a location that is partially shady but will tolerate full sun in cooler climates if not allowed to dry out.
They require a light, sandy soil with moderate amounts of water and do well as border plantings or in planter boxes and hanging baskets.
This beautiful porcelain blue flower is as delicate as its name. One of the very best for naturalizing Annual, but re-seeds year after year in most locations. 6-10" tall.
